Ward Feast 2024

Belvai June 23, 2024:  St John the Baptist ward members celebrated the ward patron saint feast at ward member Cyril Alice Rodrigues house. 

St John Baptist is the only Saint after Mother Mary & Jesus Christ whose feast is celebrated on his birth, the Nativity feast.

The celebration began with the lighting of the lamp followed by a prayer. Parish priest Rev. Fr Joseph Alphonse Cardoza offered flowers to the Holy Bible. 

Ward Secretary Jenitha Sequeira read the annual report. 

Prima Ferrao & Wilson Pereira conducted games. Ward kids performed a dance.

Felicitation for students who qualified in the last academic year was held. A prize for attendance for attending all Small Christian Community (Monthly Ward meeting) was given.

Sponsors for the feast celebration were felicitated. Prizes for game winners were distributed.

Sr Jacintha Lasrado, Mrs Lavina Cardoza & Fr Joseph Cardoza addressed the gathering and wished the ward members. 

Other Wards Heads were also present.

Rev. Fr Joseph Alphonse Cardoza, Sr Jacintha Lasrado, Parish Council Vice President Lavina Cardoza, Secretary Jacintha Rego, 21 Commissions Convenor, and Ward Head Veera Pereira were present on the dias.

 Jenitha Sequeira compered the event, and Veera Pereira proposed a vote of thanks. The celebration ended with a delicious meal.
